Chris Grant's Youth Girls & Women's Football Academy
Headed up by former Western Bulldogs captain and hall of famer, Chris Grant, and local football legend, Ian Allan, the girls and women's football academy will focus on providing expert coaching and skill development to players aged 16 years of age through to women playing at senior women's level.
Having spent the past 10 years co-coaching youth girls and women's teams together, achieving multiple premierships along the way, Chris and Ian’s programs have guided 3 players to AFLW level since starting their coaching journey together in 2016. With Isabella Grant, Isabelle Pritchard, and Kristy-Lee Weston-Turner all successfully being drafted to AFLW teams. And a further 15 players progressing to state-league level with VFL women’s Clubs.
With a passion for coaching and supporting the growth and development of young girls playing the game of AFL, Chris and Ian’s program aims to fast track the development of players to achieve greater results and accelerate their progression to higher level competitions in the future. Including VAFA, State-League, and AFLW.
This program provides an opportunity for girls participating at the following levels;
- playing consistently well at local level and showing promise
- on the cusp of AFL talent pathway programs such as Coates Girls League, or
- Currently participating at Coates Girls League, or
- Currently participating at VAFA or VFLW level
- Aged 16+ (January 1, 2025)
